Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is desirable.
  • Preferred minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Possession of an OSHA 30 (Construction) certification.
  • CPR/FIRST AID certification.

About Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, advise, and propose enhancements or adjustments to the Site-Specific Safety Program in accordance with OSHA regulations, Company policies, and client needs.
  • Serve as the safety liaison between the Client, General Contractors, Subcontractors, Government Agencies, and Brad Cole Construction.
  • Develop Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) when necessary for the project and support subcontractors in fulfilling this requirement.
  • Report any required changes to the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to the Corporate Safety Director.
  • Provide training to Project Managers and Field Supervisors regarding their roles in executing the Corporate Safety Program and the Site Specific Safety Plan.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Site Specific Safety Plan, safety protocols and policies, risk management strategies, and on-site project specifications.
  • Perform Job Site Safety Audits to identify potential weaknesses and risks.
  • Instruct Field Supervisors and Operators on OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Assist Project Managers and Site Supervisors in conducting weekly safety briefings and daily Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Interpret and enforce safety manuals, hazards, or violations as necessary.
  • Deliver site safety orientation to new hires and subcontractors.
  • Procure safety supplies when needed, subject to approval by jobsite personnel, PMs, Superintendents, and/or Corporate Safety Director.
  • Address and manage environmental issues at project sites.
  • Train the workforce to recognize and protect endangered species.
  • Ensure correct fueling operations and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Direct and execute fuel or other pollutant spill mitigation efforts.
  • Administer the prescribed random drug testing program for the project.
  • Arrange for transportation of personnel to a doctor for work-related injuries.
  • Maintain appropriate labor law posters on jobsites.
  • Conduct weekly observations and equipment inspections.
