Our Senior Mechanical Engineers play a vital role in collaborating with other lead and contributing Mechanical Engineers, design teams, and Senior Project Managers to tackle intricate and innovative designs. They employ cutting-edge design techniques to meet all specifications and ensure the timely completion of projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, qualifying for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) designation is required.
  • Ability to interface with customers to define the scope of work and design basis.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems control philosophy, including P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) development.
  • In-depth understanding of HVAC, Pumping, Chiller and Boiler systems, including their design and operation. Knowledge of pump hydraulics is required.
  • Capacity to provide clear direction and expectations to designers and contractors.

About Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize standard engineering methods and techniques for small projects or specific segments of larger projects.
  • Execute mechanical design across various project phases, from conceptual design to construction document production, and offer engineering support during construction.
  • Develop mechanical system layouts, equipment sizing, selection, and create associated specifications and scope of work documentation.
  • Contribute to plumbing and/or schematic fire protection design on selected projects.
  • Design air systems, fans, ducting, dampers, hydronic systems, and related components.
  • Produce construction contract documents.
  • Receive guidance on specific assignment objectives and more complex aspects while offering solutions to unusual problems.
  • Occasionally apply judgment to adapt or modify design concepts.
  • Review work with a supervisor to ensure sound engineering practices and professional judgment are applied.
  • May oversee, coordinate, and guide the work of designers on the same project, with some responsibility for reviewing their completed drawings.
  • Participate in preparing cost estimates and contribute to portions of specifications.
  • Utilize design software, including AutoCAD and Revit modeling software, along with design tools like Trane Trace Load 700, Handsdown Psychrometric analysis, PIPE-FLOW, and TRIFLEX.
  • Attend and actively participate in design reviews, both internal and external, as needed.
