We are seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role in our engineering team, focusing on the design and implementation of sustainable automation projects. In this position, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience to lead the delivery of capital projects within an industrial environment.
Job Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Automation, Electrical, or Electronics.
- Possess a P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) designation.
- Have a minimum of 6 years of experience in automation.
- Ideally, bring experience from working at an engineering firm, automation solutions provider, or in plant engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience in working on industrial automation projects.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the engineering design and commissioning of industrial electrical power systems.
- Handle the application, design, configuration, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Take the lead in the development of capital projects, which includes conducting feasibility studies, defining project scopes, estimating capital costs, and creating preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
- Perform programming for PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and DCS (Distributed Control System).
- Determine the appropriate design deliverables based on the complexity of each project.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for automation systems and equipment.
- Enhance and upgrade existing assets using advanced problem-solving techniques.
- Possess a deep understanding of the project lifecycle, facility lifecycle, and the engineering process.
