The Payroll Intern position entails carrying out administrative and clerical duties associated with both biweekly domestic and monthly international payroll procedures. The intern will play a crucial role in reviewing processes and ensuring their efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or Finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not limited to the major).
- Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week).
- Transfer students must provide their GPA from their current university.
- Unofficial transcript copy must be attached.
- Successful completion of a substance abuse test before the work term.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Assist in the timely and accurate processing of payroll for Plant Spartanburg associates, adhering to established deadlines and quality standards.
- Data Management: Enter and manage data for both domestic and international associate payments, including tasks such as handling expense reimbursements, gross-ups, and salary calculations.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports and organize data for various purposes, including audits, plant-wide reports, and legal inquiries.
- Company Car Audits: Support quarterly audits of company cars to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Financial Data Input: Input compensation data for Accounting's cross charge procedure, contributing to financial transparency and accountability.
- Process Enhancement: Contribute to ongoing payroll process improvements through participation in projects and initiatives.
- Customer Service: Provide timely and informative customer service to associates, addressing their payroll inquiries and policy-related questions.
- New Hire Orientation: Assist in the onboarding of new hires, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of paperwork in alignment with Federal regulations.
- Employment Verifications: Handle employment verification processes efficiently.
- Global Compensation Project: Provide support for the Global Compensation Project, contributing to global HR initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement Program: Assist in the Domestic/International Payroll Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), identifying areas for optimization.
- Time Audits: Prepare Time Audits for easy review using PowerBi, streamlining time management processes.
- Documentation Management: Review and update documentation related to international payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Tax Vendor Requirements: Fulfill all requirements for tax vendors, ensuring proper tax compliance.
- International Compliance: Review and request any necessary international compliance documents for international assignments, ensuring adherence to legal standards.
