This role involves supervising the implementation of human resources policies, processes, programs, and practices. Reporting to the HR Manager, the incumbent will provide support for recruitment, group benefits administration, employee engagement initiatives, and health and safety activities.
Job Requirements:
- A College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a related field is required.
- CHRP designation (or in the process of obtaining) is a plus.
- At least 1 year of relevant HR experience, preferably in the NGO/Charity sector.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Familiarity with Health and Safety protocols.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, tact, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High level of precision and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Record Management: Maintain accurate records of personnel and volunteer-related information, including personal details, leaves, and signed documents.
- Policy and Procedures: Manage the review, communication, and maintenance of the HR handbook, ensuring that all policies align with IRC’s values.
- Health and Safety: Assist in implementing health and safety policies and procedures. Contribute to the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and coordinate related initiatives and training.
- Recruitment: Aid managers in their hiring processes.
- Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding of new colleagues, providing comprehensive orientation on their roles and IRC’s core values.
- Office Management: Contribute to office organization and management procedures.
- Asset Management: Collaborate with the IT team to support asset management efforts.
- Benefits: Administer group benefits and paid time off, addressing employee queries.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Review and compile HR metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
