In this role, you will be an integral part of the MEP team within the Buildings sector. The position offers an exciting opportunity to join a diverse engineering group in Central Canada that is primed for growth and ready to take on challenging endeavors in the years ahead.

Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in the field of Electrical consulting.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensure with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is a prerequisite.
  • Proven expertise across multiple sectors, including Healthcare, Residential, Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial, in the realm of electrical consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects encompassing new construction, renovations, and electrical system upgrades.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, and all relevant CAN-ULC and CSA codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) and electrical design software.
  • AutoCAD experience is essential, while proficiency in REVIT MEP is highly desirable.

About Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Principal, Mechanical/Electrical Manager and work independently with minimal supervision on projects from inception to completion.
  • Take a leadership role in the design activities and provide mentorship to design staff across all aspects of their work.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering quality standards for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts and ensure their proper application and execution.
  • Review the work of designers, covering specifications, reports, code compliance, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Implement risk management practices across all projects.
  • Lead the design team in producing schematic design, design development, tender and construction documents that align with project requirements within the specified schedule and budget.
  • Manage various construction-related tasks, including shop drawing review, progress drawing review, quotation assessment, preparation of CCN/SI (Contract Change Notice/Substantial Performance), site visits, and more.
  • Author, analyze, and provide reports on electrical system work.
