We are in search of a Director of Taxation to join our corporate finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of U.S. Federal, State, and international tax strategies, planning, compliance, and controversy. Your position will serve as the primary point of contact for tax matters, including legislative impacts, for a diversified holding company, its subsidiaries, affiliated partnerships, and shareholders.

- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Tax and Accounting.
- Minimum Work Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience with a public accounting or law firm specializing in multinational corporations; expertise in taxation of S Corporations and individuals.
- License(s) / Certification(s): CPA required; Master of Taxation preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP/S4 is a plus.
- Strong time management skills, capability to work under time constraints, and meet deadlines.
- Skill in project management and multitasking, including managing diverse projects across cross-functional environments.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the CFO and collaborate with executive leadership across the corporate office, subsidiaries, and affiliated partnerships to address all tax-related matters.
- Manage external advisor services, including the preparation of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns, international tax filings, 1099 and 1042 filings, foreign bank account regulations, and statutes filings. Oversee income tax payment obligations.
- Recruit, oversee, and engage in-house and external investment tax accounting resources.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations, ensuring compliance in nexus jurisdictions and adherence to necessary tax filings.
- Oversee SALT compliance process, ERP setup and configuration, and ongoing filing requirements.
- Provide guidance for intricate transactions, such as equity, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and joint ventures.
- Manage tax audits, interact with regulatory authorities, and handle responses and analyses. Communicate audit results to executive leadership and the audit committee.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses, manage special tax projects, and coordinate with external advisors and consultants as required.
- Ensure transfer pricing documentation aligns with local regulations.
- Conduct tax research on a wide range of topics, identifying opportunities and promoting viable solutions.
- Collaborate with the legal team to manage annual registrations and renewals across various jurisdictions.
- Liaise with IT on technical matters and oversee tax data requirements for tax applications.
- Uphold ethics and compliance standards, fostering an environment of integrity and ethical behavior. Enhance compliance within your team and ensure clear communication of policies and procedures.
- Foster external relationships and alliances, bolstering the organization’s reputation in the community. Act as a credible spokesperson and representative of the company to the public.
