Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using various material handling equipment, including but not limited to fork trucks, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks. Material handlers should also possess the ability to label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over-pack, and palletize items as required. Verify the quantity, labeling, and address to ensure that outgoing shipments are both complete and correct, and provide a signature for outbound shipments when necessary. Move products, cartons, or pallets efficiently into trailers, rail cars, or containers. Maintain equipment in an organized and clean manner, always operating it safely and effectively, in accordance with company standards and OSHA requirements. Keep precise records and reports, assist in physical inventories and cycle counts, and ensure proper stock rotation. In some cases, material handlers may need to make inventory adjustments in the computer. They may also be responsible for repacking or re-boxing cases per customer instructions, repairing and consolidating damaged goods as needed, and operating a shrink-wrap machine. Additionally, they should handle tasks such as charging forklift batteries when required, stacking or separating pallets, and cleaning railcars, trailers, and truck docks as requested. This role may also encompass other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • A high school education or GED is preferred.
  • Possessing OSHA Forklift and HAZMAT certification is a plus.
