The Construction Manager plays a pivotal role in actively overseeing and coordinating contractors to facilitate the deployment of Supercharger stations across Canada. Tesla is in search of a self-motivated professional with prior experience in managing small to medium-scale construction projects. We highly value demonstrated hands-on experience and an understanding of construction best practices and industry standards. As the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects, managing budgets, timelines, fit, finish, and safety requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Accumulate 4-6 years of progressively responsible estimating and project management experience in a related industry.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of construction administration processes, including contracts, budgets, construction documents, change orders, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and material procurement.
- Exhibit advanced knowledge of construction means and methods.
- Possess a strong understanding of AC and DC power, transformers, circuit protection, single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Possess excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical topics with various audiences, including contractors, engineers, and members of different divisions within Tesla.
- Be able to travel regionally to support active projects.
- Have the ability to obtain a Canadian passport.
- Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage the active construction of Supercharger sites across various locations in Canada.
- Provide constructive feedback to the deployment, development, and engineering teams regarding site and equipment design efficiencies to facilitate more cost-effective and timely installations.
- Manage, review, and approve on-site change requests and efficiently process change orders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Tesla-related activities on-site, effectively conveying design requirements and related standards.
- Maintain and manage construction schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
- Coordinate project close-out requirements, including essential inspections, as-built drawings, final project photos, and other necessary documentation.
