In this position, you will lead a team of Construction Managers, overseeing team assignments, staff development, and performance. You will harness their construction expertise to collaborate across various stakeholders, including senior leadership teams. This role involves defining and managing the project based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and taking corrective actions in alignment with established project objectives and business requirements. Safety leadership is a key focus, and you will translate strategy into a clear direction and work plan for the Construction teams.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy industrial construction in various field execution supervisory and management roles, or hold a university degree along with 7-12 years of field management or operations experience.
- Hold a designation as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.), Project Management Professional (PMP), or possess a Construction Management certification.
- Have a solid understanding of how the Suncor operating model collaborates to add value to the business.
- Demonstrate the ability to use project and construction management performance metrics to track and monitor work.
- Proficiency in managing risk, evaluating risk impacts, and addressing obstacles to ensure execution success.
- Serve as a safety champion, consistently demonstrating and fostering Operational Discipline behaviors.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the need for Early Contractor Input (ECI) and take accountability for developing a Construction Management Plan (CMP) and a Construction Execution Plan (CEP). This includes Construction Management Organization, Work Packaging, Advanced Planning, Workforce Planning, Path of Construction, and Performance Enhancement Programs in the domains of Safety, Productivity, Quality, and Monitoring.
- Provide strategic construction insights related to internal and external business drivers, such as labor market trends.
- Take accountability for cultivating a culture of worker engagement and individual responsibility to enhance project safety performance.
- Manage Interactive Planning sessions for specific scope changes and ensure the successful delivery of outcomes.
- Be responsible for interface and integration points and how they support overall project development.
