Construction Administrator

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Design team within the Architecture Group. Your responsibilities will involve actively participating in site meetings, overseeing activities on multiple construction projects, and preparing comprehensive site reports. You will provide regular progress reports to the owner, review shop drawings, address Contractor requests for information, and manage Contract Changes. Handling all construction phase paperwork is a key aspect of this role, in addition to conducting quality control and constructability reviews on drawings and specifications before document issuance for permit/tender. You will also serve as a mentor for design and technical staff on construction and Practice matters and regularly update the Project Manager and Project Captain with necessary reports.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, with a specific focus on the construction phase of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
  • Profound technical expertise in building envelope and construction, a strong understanding of codes, and familiarity with Nova Scotia construction practices.
  • A positive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with co-workers, clients, contractors, and authorities.
  • Proficiency in reviewing progress claims submitted by Contractors.
  • Some travel may be required as part of the role.
  • Possession of recognized credentials from a construction contract administration course or equivalent training would be considered an asset.
