The Executive Director, under the guidance of the Regional Director, assumes full accountability for ensuring top-tier care delivery and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for both residents and staff.

Job Requirements:

  • A post-secondary degree from a program spanning a minimum of three years or a post-secondary diploma in health or social services from a program with a minimum of two years’ duration.
  • Completion or enrollment in Administrator’s Certification, requiring a minimum of 100 hours of instruction.
  • Certificate from the “Ontario Fire Safety: Training for Owners/Operators” Course.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience:
    • In a managerial or supervisory capacity within the health or social services sector, or
    • In another managerial or supervisory capacity, provided the individual holds the Long Term Care Administrator Certificate.
  • Post-secondary education in management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership aptitude for directing employee activities.
  • Outstanding organizational, multitasking, and time management capabilities.
  • Customer-centric approach, emphasizing client relationship establishment and upkeep.
  • Proficiency in devising innovative solutions and approaches to daily challenges.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety practices, principles, and legislation.
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental accounting principles and relevant regulations.
  • Knowledge of the evolving healthcare system is beneficial.

About Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership by establishing and achieving the residence’s goals and objectives.
  • Efficiently manage human, financial, and physical resources across various departments of the residence.
  • Select, develop, and foster employee growth, creating a knowledge- and skill-enhancing environment.
  • Engage in open communication and collaboration with residents, families, and the community to uphold a positive public perception of the residence.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process and oversee the facility’s operations within budgetary parameters.
  • Supervise the accounting operations associated with the residence.
