The incumbent in this role is accountable for the installation and maintenance of resistance welding, laser welders, laser markers, and systems equipment, as well as addressing customer inquiries related to applications or process development involving our products. This position necessitates extensive global travel for the purpose of supporting these tasks.

Job Requirements:

  • Possession of a 4-year degree in engineering, materials, physics, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the maintenance of industrial control equipment (preferred).
  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of computer programming; prior experience with industrial control equipment is advantageous.
  • Background in customer service or field engineering is a plus.
  • Familiarity with motion control, encompassing M and G codes (preferred).
  • Ability to learn and interpret ladder logic.
  • Prior experience in training customers in the operation of capital equipment (preferred).
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.

About Key Responsibilities:

  • Willingness and capability to travel approximately 75% of the year, involving both air and car travel.
  • Installation, alignment, and servicing of lasers, resistance welders, and workstations featuring PLCs and motion control hardware and software.
  • Implementation of changes to PLC and motion control programs.
  • Provision of customer training on product use and maintenance.
  • Handling telephone inquiries concerning product operation, maintenance, and application.
  • Compilation of field visit and customer inquiry reports.
  • Collaborating with customers and other visitors on in-house applications development.
  • Execution of other tasks and projects assigned by management.
