As a Field Operations Manager, you will take charge of field operations within your designated area to meet contractual obligations and maintain a productive work environment for craftsmen and subcontractors. Your role includes enforcing safety and quality control policies to ensure a secure and efficient work site.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and four years of experience in the construction industry as a foreman or assistant superintendent is required. A four-year degree in engineering or construction management, along with four years of experience, is preferred.
- Effective verbal communication skills are essential.
- Strong skills in subcontractor coordination are a must.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and adhere to schedules.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project superintendent and project manager to formulate and finalize the operational plan, job layout, and schedule as necessary.
- Manage day-to-day tasks for craftsmen and subcontractors in the field, delegating work through foremen and subcontractor representatives.
- Maintain consistent communication with engineering, quality control, and safety teams to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Review job plans, specifications, budgets, and estimates with the Project Manager and project superintendent to ensure clear understanding of quantities, values, manpower needs, and deliveries for various job divisions.
- Actively participate in schedule development, periodic logic reviews, and the creation of short-term look-ahead schedules, implementing these schedules during weekly subcontractor meetings led by the Superintendent.
- Assist in planning for material receiving, storage, and handling at the project's outset.
- Contribute to resolving construction challenges, such as productivity issues and work interfaces.
- Foster a strong, cooperative relationship with the owner and strive to create an atmosphere of mutual respect between Caddell and project partners.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by your supervisor.
