As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and management of quality control and quality assurance processes, procedures, and documentation related to construction, fuels, environmental remediation, and demolition projects.
Job Requirements:
- At least five years of experience working with DoD/USACE.
- Management experience with contractors and relevant expertise in implementing inspection and testing programs for remediation and construction projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented problem solver.
- Direct experience with and established relationships with Federal clients.
- Ability to gather and analyze data, think logically and creatively, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks, prioritize and organize work effectively under stress in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to constant changes.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for assisting and communicating with staff and clients.
- Proficiency in using the USACE RMS system is highly desired.
- Strong skills in Excel and Word.
- Ability to perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- OSHA 30 certification is highly desired.
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing proposal technical approaches and cost estimates for Quality Program implementation.
- Develop Quality Control Project Plans, including Definable Features of Work, inspection requirements, and testing plans. Create relevant field forms associated with these plans.
- Ensure compliance with submittal requirements, including maintaining submittal logs, tracking review/approval/resubmittal, and reviewing technical submittals based on subject matter expertise.
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
- Implement a field 3-phase Quality Control process following USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors training.
- Document field quality deficiencies and track them through a Deficiency Log until closeout.
- Establish and lead a QC team consisting of subject matter experts to execute job-specific QC programs successfully.
- Work with the field team to determine the timing and rationale for quality "hold points" for inspection and testing. Plan the effective implementation of the inspection and testing plan.
- Generate targeted Daily Quality Control Reports, notes from Preparatory and Initial Phase meetings, and deficiency reports, focusing on inspected and tested work features and their results, rather than field productivity.
- Report the status of quality program implementation to the Project Manager and Site Superintendent.
- Based on experience and expertise, assist the project team in resolving outstanding quality concerns, troubleshoot, and problem-solve as required on all projects.
