We are seeking a Construction Supervisor responsible for leading an external team of consultants, engineers, architects, and contractors. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and guidance on design, construction, and implementation aspects. Additionally, you will supervise both internal and external resources to ensure compliance with budget, timelines, and project requirements. Your responsibilities include offering project management expertise, monitoring progress, developing reports, and ensuring the successful completion of projects with varying complexities and durations, including multi-year initiatives. You will also be responsible for reviewing, authorizing, and negotiating change requests and contracts, as well as maintaining up-to-date project documentation.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of a college diploma in a related discipline (e.g., Architecture, Engineering degree), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Registration as an Architectural Technician or Technologist.
- Five (5) years of experience in project management.
- Five (5) years of experience in construction management.
- Three (3) years of experience with Ministry/school board policies, procedures, and standards.
- Three (3) years of experience and knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant software programs.
- Three (3) years of experience in school building construction, preferred.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and building codes.
- Familiarity with construction best practices related to various facilities planning aspects, including mechanical, electrical, IT, life systems, and health and safety.
- Project management skills to create schedules, budgets, and resource plans at different stages of project execution.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, various MS Office applications, and construction-related software packages.
- Ability to review and create comprehensive construction documents containing legal and technical terminology.
- Capability to develop and review drawings and specifications.
