This position involves a combination of manual and clerical tasks related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering various materials and supplies, with a focus on supporting the Production function. Utilizing computerized or automated systems is essential for efficient task completion. Maintaining a positive work environment through respectful communication and behavior, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, is also crucial while achieving performance standards.
Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Proficiency equivalent to the 'Materials Handler II and III' positions.
- At least 3-5 years of experience with order pulling in a warehouse environment.
- Physical capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English, as well as proficient math skills.
About Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage or shortages and communicate with the supervisor for resolution, including completing required documentation.
- Prepare materials for shipping, which involves pulling and staging, as well as generating necessary shipping documentation such as packing lists and bills of lading.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies, to move or reorganize stock.
- Participate in loading and unloading trucks, including routing, counting, and inspecting items. Ensure proper weight distribution in trailers during loading.
- Use handheld scanners to record the movement of products from storage to the staging area for production use.
- Scan and return all unused materials from production to storage areas.
- Verify that all materials leaving production are properly labeled and stored as required.
- Move materials within the plant, yard, or work-site.
- Review product pull lists or follow oral instructions to determine which materials or containers need to be moved.
- Load or unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves; manual lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.
- Transport materials between storage and designated areas using a forklift, hand truck, or pallet jack.
- Count and record the number of units of materials moved or handled during daily production activities.
- Maintain clean work areas, ensuring they are free of debris, and conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure safety and readiness for daily tasks.
- Consistently attend work punctually.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
