In this role, you will assume responsibility for various product identification methods, including laser marking, chemical etching, ink stamping, vibro-etching, and metal stamp impressions. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and maintaining computer graphics within laser part marking software systems.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with no prior experience or training.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to compose simple correspondence and effectively convey information in one-on-one and small group settings with customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to perform arithmetic operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
  • Strong reasoning skills to apply practical understanding when following written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and resolving issues within standardized situations.
  • Competency in various computer and office skills, including laser and graphics software, basic Windows and internet browser usage, ERP and inventory management, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word). Typing proficiency is essential.
  • Must acquire Basic Blueprint Reading certification as required.

About Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and training to fellow department employees.
  • Apply Alodine finish to aluminum products after laser processing.
  • Research and adhere to customer-specific marking specifications.
  • Apply sequential serial numbers and barcodes when necessary.
  • Develop and manage Excel files for tracking serial numbers.
  • Regularly back up computer files as required.
  • Identify and utilize special fonts and sizes as needed, loading fonts into the operating system.
  • Input labor data into the ERP system.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean work area.
  • Recognize and request necessary fixtures; propose and coordinate the creation of new fixtures in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Review blueprint files to ensure accurate product marking.
  • Manage inventory and request department supplies.
  • Identify and document opportunities for process improvement within the department.
  • Stay updated on the latest laser marking technology.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
