We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Design Specialist to handle the design and drafting of various aspects of electrical/electronic equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for designing wiring harnesses, creating layout drawings, and checking schematic diagrams. You will also be involved in the design of line replaceable unit (LRU) chassis and housing, as well as overall system packaging. Your responsibilities will include selecting components such as electrical connectors, wire, and shielding, and producing schematic diagrams and CAD drawings for manufacturing.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with electrical/electronic systems in military ground vehicles.
- Proficiency in completing end-to-end design processes, including concept development, detailed design, documentation, and verification of simple sub-systems.
- Utilization of advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, simulations, technical data packages, and integration/verification procedures.
- Expertise in CAD drafting/modeling and design techniques.
- Experience in designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, routing of wiring harnesses, and creating associated drawings.
- Familiarity with Creo Pro-Cable (minimum 2 years experience).
- Understanding of industry standards such as MIL-STD-100, ANSI Y14.5/14.41, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of wire routing using Logical Data from Mentor Graphics.
- Working knowledge of military electrical connector and electrical cabling specifications. Proficiency in creating wiring harness schematics using Visio Technical.
- Strong teamwork skills for the Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, along with effective oral and written communication abilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Creo Design.
- Associate Degree in a relevant technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An additional 2 years of experience is required if holding a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Highly desired: Working knowledge of electrical engineering and electro-mechanical engineering tools.
